Ellee Achten, Founder

Ellee is a somatic voice teacher and life coach who has spent over 22 years helping people find and trust the sound of their own truth. She began teaching in 2003 in a small music store in Virginia Beach and has since worked with hundreds of individuals ages 6 to 86 from various backgrounds —each bringing their own story and song.

With eight years of formal training and over a decade of performing and recording in styles from pop and jazz to classical, folk, and punk, Ellee blends technical skill with deep presence. In 2018 she began a teacher training program and has supported graduates to go on to teach this unique somatic approach. This work is rooted in somatic experiencing and informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), inviting voice as something felt, not just heard.

She especially loves working with neurocomplex, queer, sensitive, and disabled artists—those often told they’re too much or not enough (or, frustratingly, both!). Her spaces are gentle, affirming, and real—where every part is welcome, and voice becomes a way home.

She only works with five individual clients at a time to focus wholly and completely on their unique and complex journeys.
